I highly recommend Paws At Rest if you are planning the end of your beloved pets life or if your beloved pet has crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. Our Beloved Whistler was suffering from sudden Heart failure which progressed very rapidly and we made the extremely hard decision of Euthanasia. Paws at Rest arranged everything for us, the Vet, the cremation, they even delivered his cremated remains to our home in such a compassionate and caring way. Francine and Maria were very professional, kind and took the time to explain everything to us. They made a very hard time much easier for us. We thank you so much for everything you have done. We know Whistler was taken care of respectfully and we know he is now resting in peace. Thank you Francine and Maria, you have gone over and beyond our expectations. Thanks
Kim and MattDecember 2014When I suddenly lost my beloved Jasmine, I was heart-broken. However, I was very fortunate to discover Paws at Rest which is run by Francine and Maria. The kindness, compassion and comfort I experienced there helped me through this most difficult time. Francine understood my pain which allowed me to share my feelings of loss, my memories and my tears. Jasmine’s cremation was treated with dignity and respect. She is home with me now in a most beautiful little urn.
Thank you, Francine and Maria.

Francine and Maria
There will never be enough words to explain the emotions that you helped to calm. All the warm and comforting words you provided made Paws at rest the only choice for Georgie to be brought home to me. You helped me make a difficult choice easy. I am able to have Georgie with me and know that he has crossed the rainbow bridge.Forever grateful

Feeling so much more peaceful about beloved dog Prince’s passing. When he was initially killed our first instinct was to go to the vet. They were kind about it, but it was closing time and we were so beyond devastated, we feel like we rushed through our decisions and weren’t really given any options about how he was returned to us. When we got him back it was in a plain, sealed wooden box. It felt so cold, impersonal and incomplete.Little did we know Paws at Rest had opened up a few mere kilometers away in North Gower, run by Francine and Maria, the same people who run Country Spaw. Our Prince had gone there for daycare at times. Francine actually has 20 years experience as a Funeral Director and they both have that love of animals that shines through to other pet parents. We went there and immediately fell in love with their Memorial Garden, where you can bury your pets ashes and then visit, or merely go to think when overwhelmed.  Then you can go to their amazingly warm and comforting room, with comfortable couches and soothing feelings. You can browse their samples of urns, keepsakes and jewelry, while they kindly educate you about your options, all in a caring way with no pressure. You can then leave it in their beyond capable hands. They’ll even deliver what you’ve chosen to you.

They are also available if you are at the stage of planning the end of your beloved pets life, and can even arrange for the vet to come to their warm, soothing environment or to your home. They continuously provide support, with Francine being a trained grief counsellor. While this experience itself is devastating for many, with them it is far less so. When they came today to bring the urn, keepsake and necklace we had chosen for Prince, they set it up as a memorial for us. Finally, we feel we have something reflective of the wonderful relationship we had with him. We have a tribute worthy of the undying love, loyalty and devotion he gave us.

Finally, he’s at peace and so are we. Thank you so much Francine and Maria. For all you pet lovers out there, when faced with this difficult time, these are the people you need to see. Pawsatrest.ca. My darling Prince, I now know you have truly crossed the bridge. I will always love you and remember you.

I lost my buddy of 20 years Brandy, I couldn’t have asked for two of the most wonderful people to help me with my loss. Francine & Marie helped me create a wonderful good-bye to a dear friend and they helped me through a very difficult time. They gave Brandy the respect that she deserved after such a long life for a cat. I couldn’t and wouldn’t recommend anybody else; they are the best of the best when it comes to a pet’s funeral, a real class act. They put you at ease with their compassion and professionalism. Thank you again!!!

Recently we lost our beloved German Shepherd, Jersey. It was totally unexpected and his loss hit us hard.  We had no idea what to do or who to call but we were lucky enough to stumble upon Paws at Rest. Francine & Maria were wonderful, they were kind, compassionate and knowledgeable.  They understood what we were going through and helped make it easier through this difficult time.

Jersey was our first ‘cradle-to-grave’ animal friend; we are lucky to have found Paws at Rest, they gave him the honour and respect in death that he deserved.  Although it was heart breaking for us to leave him and say good-bye, we knew that he was going to be well taken care until his return home.

Francine and Maria, as previous owners of a pet store, current owners of a kennel, and as pet owners themselves don’t just treat this as ‘just a business’.  Paws at Rest is an extension of their lifelong love and devotion of animals – and it shows.

I would highly recommend Paws at Rest for funeral and memorial services for pets.  Their compassion and support during our time of grief in the loss of our pet, Duchess, was remarkable and so sincere. I was very impressed with Francine’s professionalism, kindness, and deep sincerity. She made sure we understood the details of what her services and costs would be. Their attention to detail in order to minimize our sorrow was so appreciated.  Francine is a warm and caring person and Paws at Rest went above and beyond all expectation.
